Are audio files saved?

No. Audio used for transcription is discarded when the recording session ends.

Does my transcript leave my Mac?

On supported Macs, transcription uses Apple’s on-device speech recognition. If only cloud recognition is available, the app stops instead of uploading without your consent.

Does it use Apple Intelligence?

On supported Macs, Apple’s on-device model can organize summaries and tasks after a recording. Core recording and transcription work without it.

Which Macs are supported?

Apple silicon Macs running macOS 15 or later. The latest on-device transcription and AI organization are available on macOS 26 or later.
