Privacy Policy

LIFE LLC, Japan (“we”) provides Mac Audio Note (the “App”). This policy explains how information is handled when you use the App.

1. Accounts and personal data

The App does not require an account. We do not collect your name, email address, advertising identifiers, or usage history through the App. This website does not use advertising or behavioral tracking.

2. Audio and transcription

Mac system audio and microphone audio are processed for live transcription. Audio files are not retained and audio is discarded after the recording session ends. On supported devices, the App uses Apple’s on-device speech recognition and does not silently fall back to cloud recognition.

3. Information stored on your Mac

Transcripts, calendar links, work categories, tasks, and preferences are stored locally on your Mac. They are not automatically sent to servers operated by LIFE LLC.

4. Permissions

Screen and system-audio access captures Mac audio; microphone access captures your voice; Calendar access identifies meetings and their times; and notifications remind you about recording. You can revoke these permissions in macOS Settings.

5. Optional network access

When you first enable optional speaker separation, the App uses an internet connection to download the required machine-learning model. Your meeting audio and transcripts are not sent to the model provider.

6. Calendar data

The App uses Apple EventKit to read events from calendars configured on your Mac. LIFE LLC does not collect or transmit your calendar contents.

7. Security and responsible recording

Protection of local data also depends on your macOS account, FileVault, and backup settings. Before recording a conversation, follow applicable law, obtain any required consent, and follow your organization’s rules.
